For the second consecutive year, AWS engaged Fane Australia to provide a world-class talent for its flagship Executive Lunch at the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix. Hosted inside the F1 Paddock at Albert Park, the event brings together some of AWS’s most senior enterprise customers alongside a select group of senior government officials – creating a uniquely high-stakes environment where entertainment value and intellectual credibility must work in equal measure.
The 2026 program centred on four content sessions exploring innovation through the lens of Formula 1: team dynamics, data-driven decision-making, translating racing strategy to enterprise thinking, and the intersection of elite performance with emerging technology. A fireside chat closed the formal agenda to bring the world of the cockpit into the boardroom.
The Paddock Club setting demands a talent who can command the room without being briefed on enterprise strategy – someone who’s own story is the strategy.
Building on the momentum of the 2025 program, which featured Guenther Steiner and the high bar it set for content-led engagement in this format, AWS returned to Fane with a clear objective: secure a talent who could anchor a fireside conversation with both the gravitas of a championship career and the analytical depth required by an audience that includes intelligence agency leadership and C-suite technology executives.
David Coulthard is one of British motorsport’s most decorated figures: a 13-time Formula 1 Grand Prix winner, two-time runner up in the Drivers’ Championship, and a veteran of 247 Formula 1 starts across teams including Williams, McLaren and Red Bull Racing. His decade-long partnership with Mika Häkkinen at McLaren produced two consecutive Constructors’ Championships and remains one of the most analytically studies team dynamics in the sport’s modern history.
Since retiring from competition in 2008, Coulthard has built an equally prominent career in broadcasting, most recently as the lead pundit for Channel 4’s F1 coverage and is an in-demand keynote and fireside speaker, translating high pressure decision-making, risk calculus, and the team culture of elite motorsport into a language that lands for executive audiences. Equally at home in a room full of engineers as with a boardroom of senior leaders, Coulthard’s adaptable and engaging style allows him to shift between technical depth and accessible narrative without losing either audience – a quality that proves invaluable when a single event spans data scientists, technologists, and government officials simultaneously.
This booking was delivered in direct conjunction with Fane Australia’s broader Mika Häkkinen & David Coulthard tour that brought both legends of the McLaren era to Australia and New Zealand. By consolidating travel, scheduling, and talent management across the tour, Fane was able to deliver meaningful cost and logistics efficiencies for AWS as the client.
Rather than managing a standalone international talent engagement, with costs of international travel, accommodation and co-ordination, AWS benefited from Coulthard’s existing commitments in the local market as part of Fane’s touring program. This model reflects Fane’s broader approach to touring talent: identifying opportunities to make available talent for clients across a defined touring period, reducing expenses while maintaining the exclusivity for the client experience.

Our touring program regularly brings world class talent to Australia, New Zealand and Singapore and as part of the Fane Group, we produce ~1,000 tours annually across every genre globally. That scale gives our clients access to talent that simply isn’t available through traditional speaker agencies: artists, athletes, entertainers, politicians and thought leaders whose schedules we know before anyone else does.
Get in touch to receive early access to unannounced touring talent before schedules are public, or share a brief and we’ll match the right speakers from our current pipeline to your event, audience and objectives.
