An Evening with Fran Lebowitz: Tour Hosts Announced

Hosts for An Evening with Fran Lebowitz 2026 tour announced.

The chain-smoking, coffee-drinking New Yorker is bringing her razor-sharp commentary to Australia and New Zealand this May, and we’re delighted to announce the local voices who’ll share the stage with her. Each host has been carefully matched to their city, set to coax out the candour, cynicism and wit that have made Fran Lebowitz one of the most quotable commentators of her generation.

Opening the tour at the Sydney Opera House on Tuesday 19 May, and again at the Adelaide Festival Theatre on 23 May, is Louise Adler AM, cultural commentator and former publisher. Two nights later, on Thursday 21 May, Perth’s Regal Theatre welcomes Meri Fatin, interviewer and podcaster. Benjamin Law, journalist and screenwriter takes the stage at QPAC Concert Hall, Brisbane 24 May, then again at Hamer Hall on Monday 25 May. The tour crosses the Tasman to close at Auckland Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre on Thursday 28 May, where Noelle McCarthy, author broadcast and producer will host the final conversation.

Whether you’ve watched Pretend It’s a City on loop, lost an afternoon to her interviews, or simply enjoy a withering one-liner delivered with perfect timing, this is a rare chance to see Fran Lebowitz live and unfiltered: 90 minutes, no intermission, no script and certainly no apologies. Expect politicians, billionaires, AI and people who walk too slowly to all in her sights.
