When Jan Fran and Antoinette Lattouf read the headlines, they don’t take them at face value, they ask the questions many of us wish we could.
Now, the journalists and broadcasts behind ETTE Media are stepping out onto the stage for their debut live show, It’s a No From Me. An evening of sharp, funny and fearless conversation about the news and how we consume the narratives that shape it.
Expect sharp wit, strong opinions and plenty of audience participation as Jan and Antoinette discuss how the news is made, who it serves and why it matters. Joined by a line-up of guests – from comedians to commentators – they’ll pull apart the week’s wildest takes, the headlines that missed the mark, and the moments that made us stop mid-scroll.
ETTE Media has a clear purpose – to help people read the news right. Founded by Jan Fran and Antoinette Lattouf, it gives audiences practical tools to question, decode and challenge the noise in a media landscape crowded my misinformation, algorithmic spin and shaky trust.
Jan Fran and Antoinette Lattouf are two of Australia’s distinctive voices in journalism. They’re sharp, fearless and never afraid to say what many are thinking.
Between them, they’ve fronted national news programs, written best-selling books, hosted podcasts, and taken aim at the spin that shapes our daily headlines. Their work is grounded in truth-telling and curiosity, but it’s their wit and warmth that make audiences lean in.
Jan Fran is a versatile journalist, bridging both traditional and social media. A Walkley Award winner with a twenty-year career spanning television, documentary, podcasts and comedy, she’s hosted ABC’s Question Everything, Channel 10’s The Project and SBS’s The Feed.
Jan is also a social commentator known for her signature blend of humour and clarity, with her short-form commentary videos and interviews attracting millions of views online. She’s currently writing her next great Australian essay collection, apparently.
Antoinette Lattouf is an award-winning author, broadcaster and advocate for media diversity, recognised by the Australian Financial Review as one of Australia’s 100 Women of Influence.
Following her landmark Federal Court win, Lattouf v ABC, she became a national flashpoint in debates about free speech, employee rights and institutional courage – and what happens when a journalist speaks truth to (media) power. Her surname has now become a verb: Lattoufed – to be sacked or silenced for standing your ground.
Together Jan Fran and Antoinette Lattouf founded ETTE Media – an independent platform to help audiences read the news right. Their chemistry is effortless, their insights razor-sharp and their conversations a rare mix of intellect, honesty and humour.
